Recycled gold and silver
In the recent decades, the demand for gold and silver has increased and this precious metal industry has grown tremendously. Most people don't know that mining gold and silver has a huge impact on people and planet.
The mining process creates a lot of toxic waste which is often discharged into nature where it finds its way into ecosystems and has serious consequences for the health of people and planet. Of all the mining industries, the mining of gold is the most harmful to the environment and is known as the biggest mercury polluter in the world.
Millions of people are involved within this industry and 90% of the gold mining is done in small-scale mines. The small-scale gold mines are mined by people in poor conditions, without protective clothing and with dangerous chemicals. These chemicals can lead to health problems and pollution of the local water supply.
Fortunately, there are ways to buy gold and silver which follow a more conscious process, namely recycled and Fairtrade gold and silver. Gold and silver are extremely durable and by buying gold or silver you are buying something that will last several lifetimes. There is a lot of mined gold and silver available for recycling which is relatively easy without losing luster, quality and appearance.
We find it important to manufacture in the most conscious way. Thus, our products are recycled from the best 14K, 9K gold and silver. All materials that we work with are thoroughly tested and our jewelry is never filled, gold plated and always 100% nickel free. Our jewelry is produced with fully certified recycled raw materials. In order to make sure our manufacturing is done conscious and honest, we only work with partners that are certified by the RJC. Which guarantees that we deliver the best quality in the most ethical way.
Recycled gemstones
Recycled gemstones are removed from existing jewelry to be reused. The jewelry can range between a few months old up to a 100 years. This makes the recycling process even more interesting because each product has its own story.
Gemstones are some of the most unique stones that nature has given us and each kind is known for its own power. Just like our gold and silver, we find it important that our gemstones are ethically acquired. We believe that there are already so many beautiful gemstones out there in the world, that it is unnecessary to further deplete the earth and rather give existing gemstones a second life. After all, it can take millions of years for a gemstone to form. Quality and reliability of our gemstones is essential to us. Our gemstones are all selected and sorted in the country famous for their gemstones, India. In addition, we only work with partners who are certified in using an ethical production process. In this way, we are guaranteed that they deliver the same quality as where we stand for.
The reason we choose to work with natural gemstones instead of synthetic ones is simple: a process that takes years to form cannot be equalled in any synthetic form. We see the small imperfections within the gemstones as perfection. Click here to view our gemstone guide and to learn more about gemstones.
